Sally the Witch (魔法使いサリー Mahōtsukai Sarī) is the first magical girl genre anime in Japan. This may (even more broadly) be the first shojo anime as well. Sally the Witch appears in Midnight Lemon Angel on the cover of a baby miki Emoto blanket, while Lemon Angel are watching old footage of Miki. Erika Okushima shouts out "SALLY CHAN!", and the rest of Lemon Angel go on to say how cute Miki was as a baby.
